Throughout the Kingdom, tales are told of a land far north, a city of fantasy and legend. Tales of

strong wind and stronger parties, which have oft been forgot in the mists of time and alcohol. Each

year, a pilgrimage is made by those of legendary status to the mystical land. Those people are you,

student windsurfers of the UK, the city is Liverpool, and the date is the 7th-9th of November.

Liverpool University’s Northern Monkey VII returns again, kicking off the SWA Core Event series in style, and promises to be more unreal, more unruly and more unrelenting than ever before.

Saturday and Sunday will be spent at Crosby Lakeside, a short drive north of Liverpool where we will run freesailing, racing for all divisions, team racing and freestyle competitions with prizes and points toward the series up for grabs. Off the water, you’ll find clinics, music, food and a guaranteed warm shower.

Legendary lash has also been lined up for Friday and Saturday nights in town. The bar will be stocked with plenty of shots and drinks deals, even a free one thrown in. Unbelievable! In accordance with student windsurfing tradition, Saturday night plays host to the fancy dress party, or should we say... Fantasy Dress Party! The theme this year is Myths and Legends:  think unicorns, King Arthur and the tooth fairy, or let your creative side run wild!

‘How much will this weekend of fanciful frivolities set me back?’ You cry...

The unreal sum of £15 for a windsurfing ticket.

Included in the price is:

·         2 nights’ accommodation in a Scouse House
·         2 days’ windsurfing
·         2 legendary parties
·         Entry to competitions
·         Breakfast both mornings
·         Lunch both days at the lake
·         Dinner Saturday night
·         One magical weekend of memories!

XSWA Party tickets are £12 (includes everything but windsurfing)
Instructor tickets are £10 (You must instruct!)

Those who make a pilgrimage up the M6 shall write their own legend. One which shall live in the figurative history books of student windsurf lore for centuries to come.
Don’t be the one to miss out, be a part of the mythology in the making.
