For the first time ever the SWA is going to hit you with 2 events at once! One in the south and one in the north! Which will you choose?????
Tickets for both will be released next week!
Birmingham
Birmingham University’s debut core SWA event is here. The theme is “In the beginning”, so think dinosaurs, cavemen, Adam and Eve or any old style fantasy.
The 2 days will be spent at Chasewater Sailing club, famous for its beaches. So forget the dirty squelchy mud of AK oozing between your innocent toes and replace it with heavenly soft(ish), exfoliating sand.
Premium accommodation will be provided in Selly Oak, a mere 40 min sleep (for most of you) from the lake. (Chocolates on pillows not guaranteed).
Being a standard SWA event, expect beginner lessons, racing for all levels, a freestyle competition and team racing showdown. Prizes and points for the SWA series will of course be up for grabs as well as a stash of SWA merchandise you can get your now beautifully soft, callus free hands on (the sand, remember).
To ready you for the windsurf action, expect to crawl home from a big welcome to Brum night in Selly Oak on the Friday. Just in case you don’t end yourself trying to do a frontloop on the lake, we’ll be getting mortal on Broad Street on the Saturday, but don’t worry that’s not part of the actual insurance policy!
This will without doubt* be the waviest weekend of lake sailing you have ever experienced.
PlymEx
For those of you undazzled by the “bright lights” of Birmingham, the city of Plymouth on the shining Southern coast invites you for a weekend jam packed full of salty goodness, sea air, shanter (S*** Banter) and looseness!
There’s something for everyone with Wave freestyle for those keen riders of the wind and beginner sessions for those whose journeys have just begun. Not only that, but you will have the opportunity to sample Plymouth’s thriving and uniquely charming night life on very special nights on the town.
Of course, in true SWA fashion, our second evening will bring on that jungle fever as we all dress up as animals before shredding the scene in Fresher and Professor! Come one, come all, just don’t miss out!
